Today we welcome the newest machine in our fleet - a Raven 1 R44. With two R44s in the hangar we are now able to get through the agricultural work twice as fast as ever before!

Congratulations to Kieran Carter and Jonothan Pole for passing their Commercial flight tests today with Bruce Joy. It was a long day starting at 8am through til late afternoon, but both came away with a top result.

As of today Heli-Hire Ltd as been signed off by CAA as an independant Part 137 operation. This means we are now able to continue to spread fertiliser on your paddocks, and spray those weeds, gorse and scrub that we have done previously under our old parent company Central Helicopters. Nothing has changed internally only the company name.

Congratulations to Marc Corlett for passing his Private License today with Rick Graham.
Marc has been completing his Private Helicopter License part-time over the last 2 years between work commitments.
Marc passed his test with flying colours, and is looking forward to continuing towards a Commercial Pilot license

Congratulations to Ben Stuart for passing his Private license today with Bruce Joy.
Ben Joined Heli-Hire from across the ditch (Australia) at the start of 2012, hes has worked hard passing all his PPL and CPL exams before sitting his PPL flight test. Was a great effort with a strong cross wind on the remote airstrip, to pass with a great result.

Congratulations to Brett Wright on passing his C-Cat flight test on 12th May 2012. Brett has trained and worked as ground crew with Heli-Hire for the past 2 years, and we are now pleased to offer him a position as flight instructor, undertaking all basic helicopter training.
On the 27th Dec Kieran Carter (AKA JT) took the first large step in helicopter training , Going Solo. Congrates Kieran and it will be a day you never forget!
On the 30th July Jonathan Pole and Brett Wright sat and passed there PPL and CPL flight tests with Bruce Joy. With great weather condition on test day our students over came all challenges.
Robinson R44 Raven II Arrives
Today the Brand New Robinson R44 Raven II arrived at the hangar. The Helicopter is the newest addition to the Heli-Hire fleet. We are now able to offer R44 type ratings.

To improve its Sling Rating training and provide students with realistic scenarios, Heli-Hire has purchased a remote controlled grapple.
Heli-Hire has recently purchased a spidertracks tracking solution. The spider tracking device is a compact, self-contained unit, integrating a GPS receiver and transmitter in one small unit.
This unit provides peace of mind for both flight training, when students are completing solo cross-country flights, and for commercial operations.

A second fire bucket complete with foaming unit allows Heli-Hire to deploy both Hughes 500 helicopters in the event of a fire. The foaming unit allows for mixing of Class A foam with the water load to improve its effectiveness during aerial fire suppression operations.
During October, Heli-Hire was visited by a representative from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The purpose of the visit was to assess compliance with policies and criteria for ongoing registration as a Private Training Establishment. We are pleased to report no deficiencies were found and Heli-Hire has maintained it registration.
